| Course Aims To train students with the skills and knowledge in accordance with the requirements by the NCMA and PLA - this course is for members of these organisations and those requiring a detailed knowledge of First Aid for young children combined with Appointed Persons requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.
Suitable For Any person in the care of children.. Course Length 12 Hours. Course can be run in two 6 hour sessions or four x 3 hour sessions Pre-requisite None. Certification Students will be awarded a certificate of competence which is valid for 3 years
Course Venue This course is generally held at your premises. We can book a training room at a local hotel. An additional charge will be added to the course fee (subject to its suitability). Course Syllabus The course covers the following subjects. - Accidents - how and what type occur
- Unconscious casualty: Adult/Child/Infant
- Resuscitation: Adult/Child/Infant
- Contents of the First Aid kit
- Dealing with blood loss and shock
- Burns & scalds
- Causes of unconsciousness
- Electric shock
- Foreign bodies
- Recognition and management of fractures
- Administration of medication
- Recognition of infectious diseases and minor illnesses
- Recording and reporting
Venue: This course is only available to groups. We can come to you or we can run the course at our training centre in Antrim A minimum charge for 8 students will be applied to all in-house course at £85 Per person if under eight attend. |
