Course Aims To train students in the skills and knowledge of emergency first aid in the sports arena and in accordance with the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982. Suitable For Any person involved in Sports and nominated as an Appointed Person in the Workplace. Course Length 6 Hours. Pre-requisite None. Certification Students will be awarded a certificate of competence which is valid for 3 years although a one year update is advised. Course Venue Courses are arranged at your venue anywhere in Northern Ireland, Eire, Mainland UK and Europe (subject to its suitability). Course Syllabus The course covers the Core subjects below and different Modules are available and tailored for each group: · Introduction to first aid and safety in the sports field. · Assessment of the incident and injured person. · Resuscitation on an Adult, Child and Infant (Includes a demonstration of the Lifepak Defibrillator) · Causes of unconsciousness, Head Injuries, Concussion, Direct Impact · Choking – Tongue Vacuum, Gum and gum shields. · Control of bleeding to the Lips, Nose, Mouth, Legs and arms. · Shock – Recognition and treatment. · Burns, scalds and poisons. · Fractures – Lower limb, Arms, Jaw, Collar Bone, Shoulder, Ribs – Immobilisation etc... · Minor Illness - Such as Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy. · Record keeping and what to have and use safely in a first aid kit. In-house at Your Venue: £600 per group of 8 to 12 People for a 3 year Certificate £750 per group of 12 to 16 People for a 3 year Certificate £1000 per group of 16 to 21 People for a 3 year Certificate Prices are ex Vat
